Our Story
Founded in 2018, following a kitchen conversation between co-founders Tullem McKiever and Cambell Nalder, Reef Craft was created to bridge the gap between advancing marine science and the lack of practical, scalable tools to stop reef decline. Having met years earlier at UWA, they were struck by a frustrating reality: while marine science was rapidly advancing, the practical, scalable tools to actually stop reef decline simply didn’t exist.
"If no one else was going to build the solution, they would do it themselves."
They envisioned a professional, "profit-for-purpose" model that could deliver the high-integrity environmental assets required for a Nature-Positive future. By combining marine engineering with rigorous academic research, we’ve built WA’s first regulatory-approved commercial reef restoration farm, proving that restoration could be both ecologically sound and commercially viable. The journey was one of persistence.
After years of navigating complex legislation and environmental risk, we have secured Western Australia’s first commercial reef restoration lease. Backed by a world-class team and strategic partners, we are ready to scale. We aren't just planting coral; we are transforming degraded seabeds into thriving, resilient ecosystems.
