Reef Craft | Dedicated to Restoring Marine Life
Bridging the gap between marine science and scalable restoration

Engineering the future of our oceans
Our Story
Founded in 2018, following a kitchen conversation between co-founders Tullem McKiever and Cambell Nalder, Reef Craft was created to bridge the gap between marine science and practical, scalable reef restoration. Having met years earlier at UWA, they were frustrated by a glaring reality: while ocean research was rapidly advancing, the hands-on tools needed to actually halt reef decline at scale simply didn’t exist in WA.
"If no one else was going to build the solution, they would do it themselves."
They envisioned a professional, profit-for-purpose model that could drive real, measurable ocean recovery. By combining marine engineering with rigorous research, we’ve established a pioneering, regulatory-approved commercial reef restoration farm. Proving that restoring ecosystems can go hand-in-hand with a sustainable business model.
The journey was one of persistence. Through years of navigating complex legislation and managing environmental risk, we secured a landmark commercial reef restoration lease. Backed by a world-class team and strategic partners, we are ready to scale.
We aren't just planting coral; we are transforming degraded seabeds into thriving, resilient ecosystems.
Oceans are vital to all life, let’s protect them
Our Drive
We believe protecting the vital 1% of the seafloor that supports so much marine life requires a new industrial model for restoration. Reef Craft’s mission is to engineer the biological infrastructure that will sustain our oceans for generations to come.
